WHERE IT ALL STARTED

I was born with a label-maker in my hand, I swear! I knew I loved to make things organized, neat, and pretty from an early age. It all started with my 99 baby dolls that adorned my bed and had to be meticulously displayed again each and every morning. Or my quick memorization of the order of the rainbow, in which my shoes must at all-times be displayed. I could go on, but I won’t. I have spent the last 15+ years of my career in education and advocacy for blind children and adults and Program and Project Management. It has, and will always be, my life’s work. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to my story. I have always wanted to start my own organizing business but was too scared to ever do it. So, I decided, why not now? That’s how Slate and STylish: Organization and Design was dreamed up!

ABOUT THE CREATOR

Hello! My name is Deja! I was born and raised on the West Side of the Salt Lake Valley and now live here in Utah with my family. But I have traveled and lived in many places in between. I am a creative soul always looking for a new way to express myself, either though dance, music, acting, art, or crafting, I’m always ready to create! I live in a small space with my husband, who is my best friend and greatest cheerleader, and my gorgeous 8-year-old daughter who is a mini organizer herself. I love making spaces efficient and beautiful and find great joy in making any spece i’m in sparklingly me. I can’t wait to make your space perfect for YOU!
